Hello {{first_name | Friend}},

Today’s prompt highlights one of Eugene Schwartz’s greatest strengths: selling the after, not the product.

Copy Prompt

People don’t buy features. They don’t even buy the product.

They buy the future version of themselves that your product makes possible. Schwartz called this future pacing—painting the picture of life after purchase so vividly that the reader feels it now.

Watch the shift:

  • “Our mattress has memory foam.” → flat.

  • “Wake up tomorrow without the back pain that’s been haunting you for years.” → future paced.

  • “Our training program increases productivity.” → flat.

  • “Imagine closing your laptop at 3 p.m. with everything done and your evening completely free.” → future paced.

  • “Our app tracks spending.” → flat.

  • “Picture logging in and seeing every bill covered—with money left for the weekend.” → future paced.

Do you see it? The feature explains, but the future sells.

Today’s drill: Rewrite 3 of your product’s claims as vivid future states. Make your reader step into the result before they buy.

Because once they feel the future, they’ll want it now.
