Hello {{first_name | Friend}},
Today’s prompt focuses on something most copywriters overlook: trust.
Copy Prompt
David Ogilvy believed one thing above all: “The consumer isn’t a moron; she’s your wife.”
In other words: she’s smart, skeptical, and can spot exaggeration a mile away.
That’s why the best copy doesn’t declare credibility, it demonstrates it. Ogilvy mastered this through what I call the Credibility Bridge: short, specific proof points that make big claims believable.
Here’s what it looks like in action:
“Used by 14,000 small business owners who were tired of wasting money on ads that don’t work.”
“Developed in partnership with Stanford’s leading behavioral science lab.”
“Over 2.5 million orders shipped - each one tracked, tested, and delivered on time.”
See how each one builds authority without bragging? It feels earned, not forced.
Today’s drill: Write 3 credibility bridges for your brand or offer. Each should prove trust with specifics — numbers, names, or results that turn bold claims into believable facts.
Remember: people don’t want perfect brands. They want trustworthy ones.
