Hello {{first_name | Friend}},
Today’s prompt digs into something every great copywriter eventually realizes —
people don’t buy because they understand you. They buy because they feel you.
Copy Prompt
I’ve seen this called as the “Emotional Switch.”
The idea is simple:
Logic informs. Emotion moves.
When emotion turns on, logic becomes its bodyguard — not its enemy.
Your reader feels first, then justifies later.
That’s why the most effective copy doesn’t start with stats.
It starts with stories.
Think about it:
No one remembers the bullet points of an ad.
But they remember the moment it made them feel something.
Here’s a simple test for your copy:
After reading it, ask yourself — what emotion does this create?
If the answer is “none,” that’s your problem.
Here’s how to flip the switch:
Replace “Our product helps you save time” with “Imagine finally closing your laptop before sunset.”
Replace “We help coaches grow” with “You’ll wake up to messages from clients asking to work with you.”
Emotion brings logic to life.
Without it, your words are just instructions.
Today’s Drill:
Take your favorite paragraph of copy.
Strip it of emotion.
Then rewrite it as if you were describing a feeling
Focus on selling what it feels like to own XYZ product.
